It has been modernized with track lights yet has retained its rustic charm with half-sheers on the window and curtains with a checkered motif on the bottom fitted wood units. An array of brass pots hangs from a rack over an island to further enhance the charm of the room. The ample space allows for table and chairs to seat 6 or more and additional lighting has been installed over the table. There is a gas cook top of 4 burners with upward draft and an electric oven over the corner cabinetry. The present owner has had all the fittings for the gas cook top replaced. Living room: From the kitchen, a door leads into the living room (25 sq. m) with exposed beams and original tomettes, the traditional red tiles used in Southwest France. There is a working fireplace with insert and a three-sectioned glass door with exposure to the south. The room is light and airy and very comfortable both in winter and in summer.
Study: A glass door leads from the living room to a cheerful study (10 sq. m). The study is wired for both telephone and internet and has shelving and a cabinet with a door for storage. There are exposed beams and also a large window looking out on the courtyard.
Bathroom: From the study, there is a door to a tiled bathroom (8 sq. m) with shower, wash basin and WC. The shower base was completely taken out and redone in 2009 and new flooring tiles were also installed at that time. There is a washing machine in good working order, in an alcove.
Bedroom: From the study, there is a door to a bedroom (10 sq. m) with its own access to the courtyard and a window looking out on the street. There is corner shelving also.
